    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying, towing, and financing your next caravan.

    Buying a Caravan

Key things to check include build quality, chassis and suspension type, water tank capacity, solar setup, warranty coverage, and whether the tow weight suits your vehicle. We recommend booking a showroom tour so Steve or one of the team can walk you through everything in person.

We sell brand new Australian made caravans from Sunrise, Sunset and Blue Sky. Quality pre loved vans become available from time to time, so stock isn't guaranteed. Call us on (07) 3888 4455 or check back on our caravans page and we'll let you know about pre loved stock first.

Yes, we take trade ins when you're buying a van from us. Pick the van you're after, bring yours in, and once we've had a proper look we'll give you an honest figure. We don't do valuations on their own, but if you're ready to upgrade, give Steve a call and we'll sort it together.

Yes, we encourage it! Book a personalised showroom tour and we'll set aside time to show you through the vans that match your needs. Walk ins are welcome too during opening hours.

Yes. We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. Ask our team about our fair cooling off policy when you visit.

Yes, a small holding deposit will secure the van for you while finance is being arranged. Chat to our team for details.

    Towing & Setup

Check your vehicle's owner's manual or compliance plate for the maximum tow capacity. The caravan's ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) must not exceed this figure. Common tow vehicles include the Toyota LandCruiser (3,500kg), Ford Ranger (3,500kg), and Isuzu MU-X (3,000 to 3,500kg). We're happy to help you match a van to your vehicle.

Tare weight is the weight of the caravan empty (as it rolls off the production line). ATM is the maximum the caravan can weigh when fully loaded with your gear, water, and accessories. The difference between ATM and tare is your payload, what you can actually load in. Every van comes with its weighbridge docket, so you know its real weight, not a brochure guess. Use a public weighbridge to check your loaded car and van before travelling.

A WDH is recommended for any van over 2,000kg. It distributes the ball weight more evenly across your vehicle's axles, improving stability and handling, especially at highway speeds.

Yes, in Australia, electric brakes are legally required on any trailer with a GTM (Gross Trailer Mass) over 750kg. Virtually all caravans require them.

Australian law requires you to have clear vision of the road behind you. If your caravan is wider than your vehicle, you'll need towing mirrors. We recommend clip on or door mount mirrors. They're easy to fit and remove.

The speed limit for towing in Queensland is 100km/h on open roads, unless signposted otherwise. Always drive to the conditions and reduce speed in wet or windy weather.

    Finance & Pricing

Yes. We work with Finetic, our accredited finance partner, to find a rate that suits your situation. Visit our finance page or contact us for a personalised quote tailored to your circumstances.

Yes, we can help you get pre approved so you know your budget before stepping foot in the showroom. Just get in touch and we'll walk you through the process.

We price our vans competitively from the start, but we're always happy to have a chat. The best way is to come in, see the van, and talk to us in person.

Deposit requirements vary by lender, but typically range from 10 to 20% of the purchase price. Some lenders offer low deposit or even no deposit options for qualified buyers.

Yes! Most of our finance partners offer loans on pre loved caravans. The terms may differ slightly from new van financing, but we'll find the best option for you.

    Off Road & Off Grid

True off road vans feature independent suspension (such as Cruisemaster or airbag systems), higher ground clearance, reinforced chassis, stone guards, checker plate protection, and robust water/power systems for remote travel.

For comfortable off grid camping, we recommend at least 300W of solar with a quality lithium battery setup (200Ah+). Each van page lists its solar, battery and water, so you can compare them side by side.

It depends on your travel style. For highway touring, standard coil or leaf spring suspension works great. For off road, we recommend independent trailing arm suspension with shock absorbers, or airbag systems for variable load comfort. Come in and we'll help you choose.

For extended off grid camping, we recommend at least 200L of fresh water capacity. Our larger off road models carry up to 400L, which gives you several days of comfortable off grid living.

    After Purchase & Support

Warranty terms depend on the manufacturer and model. We handle warranty work in our own service centre, so you deal with us, not a factory interstate. We'll always be upfront about what's covered.

We can point you in the right direction for common upgrades like solar, suspension, annexes, and towing setups. Just ask the team when you visit.
