Caravans for Sale Near Toowoomba
A bush stay, a family holiday or a longer lap from the Downs does not automatically call for the biggest van here. Start with your campsites and the vehicle you already have. Crows Nest gives us a practical place to start. Then come and compare Australian made vans at our Burpengary showroom.

The Warrego route between Toowoomba and Burpengary
Between the road beside our Burpengary showroom and Toowoomba City Hall on Ruthven Street, the mapped drive is about 161km and two hours and 20 minutes. That is ordinary car driving before breaks or congestion. It uses the Bruce Highway approach, Airport Link, Legacy Way, Ipswich Motorway, Warrego Highway and Toowoomba Connection Road.
This route includes Brisbane toll roads, not the inland run through Kilcoy. Check directions from your own place and allow more time if collecting a caravan. Before heading back to the Downs, check the loaded combination and braking equipment. Preparing for the Range gives you a clearer plan for the return drive.
Make Crows Nest part of the plan
Queensland Parks lists caravan camping at Crows Nest Falls in Crows Nest National Park. The individual sites sit in open eucalypt woodland and range from small to large. It is a real caravan camping option to investigate, with the site choice based on your own rig.
The listed facilities include pit toilets and shower cubicles where you bring your own shower equipment. Available water must be treated before drinking. Those details help you decide how much you want to use the campground facilities and how much you want your van to provide.
Think through an ordinary day there: breakfast, heading out, coming back and settling in for the evening. Ask to see the caravan's water filling and operating routine. A tank figure only becomes useful when it is tied to the way you actually use water.
Heads up: Crows Nest has different site sizes and a gravel approach described as conventional vehicle access with care. Check your site's fit, current conditions and the approach for your combination. A vacant booking slot is a start, not the whole access check.
Pick the layout before the brochure picks it for you
For a couple, compare touring layouts with easy bed access and seating you would happily use for a meal. For families, bunk vans deserve a proper walk through with the children. Test the bathroom and clothing storage with the sleeping arrangements in place, not just folded away for display.
Semi off road and off road types are worth comparing if permitted unsealed routes feature in your broader plans. Check the actual suspension, clearances and specifications rather than treating a category name as permission to tow anywhere. Touring between established sites is a different job from rougher road travel.
Tell us which appliances you expect to use. Ask what needs campsite power and what the actual electrical setup can support on its own. Work out the job before comparing systems.
The biggest label is not much use if it is solving a problem you do not have.
Make the inside work after a day outdoors
Give shoes and jackets a practical home. They will not always be neatly packed when you get back from an outing. Open the storage and try reaching into it.
A bit of everyday camping untidiness is a better test than an empty cupboard.
Try getting out of the bed from the side you expect to use. Sit in the dining area and imagine somebody cooking at the same time. If the kids are in bed, can the adults still move around?
Small layout differences become big ones when you live with them.
More length is not the only fix for a storage problem. Compare the cupboard openings, positions and layout before going bigger. Choose the van that carries your gear and works for your people.
It does not have to win the longest parking space competition.
Sort the Range trip and the buying details
Bring vehicle specifications, towing accessory details, passenger numbers and your likely loads. Every van comes with its weighbridge docket, so you know its real weight, not a brochure guess. Use a public weighbridge for loaded measurements when needed, and seek appropriate advice about what the results mean for your combination.
Request a remote walkaround before making the trip from Toowoomba. Ask the camera to follow a normal morning through the van: out of bed, bathroom, breakfast and the cupboards you need. You can save comfort and reach checks for a visit to our single Burpengary showroom.
We sell Australian made caravans and have our own service centre at Burpengary. Warranty work for buyers on the Downs is handled through a national warranty network, so you are not towing back to Burpengary for every fix. Finance through Finetic can be discussed with personalised terms and approval subject to lending criteria, and Australia wide delivery is available by quote.
Handover is always at our Burpengary yard, where we explain the whole van before you tow away. Confirm transport arrangements in writing. If you collect, leave room for getting familiar with the van and for a slower return trip over the Range.
A mapped car time is useful for planning a visit, but it is not a deadline for towing home.
